1.4kg Jerusalem Artichokes

$7.00

The Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), also called sunrootsunchokewild sunflower, topinambur, or earth apple, is a species of sunflower native to central North America.

This product is approximately 1.4 kilograms, delicious high quality home grown chemical free veg to accompany a roast or soup. This seasonal local produce must be experienced, a taste sensation which partners particularly well with bacon and cabbage. Cook in a similar fashion as potatoes. I like to bake them in pork fat for 30 minutes turning until crisp or candied, add salt towards the end. Pre-washed no need to peel (scrub away any residual soil). Packed in convenient reusable zip lock bag, for storage in fridge for up to one month.

This offer is for Tom’s Paddock Egg Buying Club members only! Limited stock, when their gone their gone.

Description

It has also been reported as a folk remedy for diabetes since inulin is not assimilated in the intestine, it doesn’t cause a glycemic spike as potatoes would.

A particularly good time to consume these beauties during lockdown… warning flatulence may ensue.
